Does BESC support CAN?
Yes both versions have integrated CAN bus transceiver and support all standard VESC® CAN bus features.
What version of VESC® firmware is BESC based on?
BESC uses stock VESC 6.6 firmware with only few parameters (like maximum current and voltage, current sense configuration) changed.
Can I use VESC Tool® to configure BESC?
You have to use latest VESC Tool® to configure any BESC.
My BESC dosn’t connect to my computer via USB. What should I do?
Have you flashed firmware according to instructions here? If you did and THR LED lights up it might be bad soldering on USB traces. Check if R78 and R77 are soldered properly? Is U9 soldered properly? If everything is okay you should measure 22 Ohm between pins marked with blue.
Also check if Y1, C72 and C73 are soldered properly. If you have access to a scope measure frequency of resonating crystal. It should be 8 MHz.
I get a OVER_TEMP_FET error but BESC is cold
Check your NTC (TH1) and pulldown (R60+C54) soldering. Measure resistance of NTC and pulldown. They both should have about 10k Ohms.
