Cerkniško lake

Easy trail around Cerkniško lake, suitable for young cyclists. Mountain bike is recommended.

Park at cemetary just outside of Cerknica.

Take the direction to Dolenje jezero, find a path on your right taking you to the lake basin (if no water in the lake).

Take rest and enjoy the nature by the water. Be careful with youngsters to avoid swiming.

Nature here is magnificant.

Continue on the road and kep right around the lake. Easy uphil will lead under Javorniki.

Pass Dolenja vas and return to Cerknica.

Trail will take about one hour (just riding time) with young bikers or half day for complete tour. Vehicles are rare on those roads during working days. It could get havier during weekends with nice weather. Avoid fire roads where posible. Here are some interesting waypoints around lake:
